Introduction:
www.Eastmeetswestnutrition.com is a blog (weblog) aimed at those who are interested in learning about some of the more provocative current nutritional topics affecting people today, and for those who are interested in looking at those topics from different world views, specifically through the lens of the western scientific view and comparing it to the eastern more intuitive one. Learning is an active endeavor and one that requires your whole thought process. That thought process is developed within a family, society, culture, religion and multiple other factors that determine how you think and what you choose or even can choose, to see and observe. Learning from only one perspective gives pieces of the whole; viewing from many perspectives gives a wider angle view that brings us closer to seeing more of the whole story without unknowingly applying filters.
On eastmeetswestnutrition blog you will find:
- Informational nutritional articles that are aimed at helping you understand the science behind the questions people are most asking. I purposely try not to ‘dummy down’ the language I use but to respect the talents of my readers and their need to understand and learn about a specific topic. My purpose is to bring your knowledge level and evaluative abilities up several notches. I aim to stretch and flex not only your brain and cognitive abilities but also your ability to see and observe with your whole spirit, mind and body to reflect on specific nutritional topics from other world views.
- Fresh content that is added on a regular basis. We will look at nutrition from the perspective of traditional cultures, from the purely chemical or scientific viewpoint and from breaking foods into individual components and observing how they enhance or otherwise destabilize the life force.
- An assortment of sample diets will be presented periodically to give you examples of various eating patterns.
